Months ago just after having started this project I asked my wife for a suggestive-but-open-to-interpretation drawing prompt.
She simply said "Hot Wax".
That stumped me.
I couldn't work it out. I didn't want to paint something too literal or obvious. Asking for an alternative prompt would be a failure and I promised myself I would honour the suggestion, even if it might take some time.
So I sat on it and moved ahead and painted many other works.
Then just about a week ago, musing what to paint after 'Sirens' this image dropped into my head. As couture as I could make it (I think the outfit is physically possible) with a big Leigh Bowery influence (if you don't know - Google him - a fascinating and striking character.)
The original piece was the most censored and didn't feature a gas mask, but before posting I thought I'd have a bit of fun, reveal some nipple, throw in a gas mask and some prosthetics for the alternative versions.
So what to paint next....?
