One person places a curse on them: "Yos dene ur kunam ik pəžašeš ilen, igəm əšten luktən kertət, tunam iže Vasli dene Ana pərlya ilyəšt!" "When stoat and squirrel can live in one den, bear young and raise them, only then may Vasili and Anna live together!" The couple transform into those very animals. Amazingly, however, they continue their relationship, much to the consternation of the curser.
