Weekly Inquiry 210: Tumblor

The month is in motion, there will be a new tale this week, well, more appropriately the first chapter of a new tale, the Monthly tale is progressing smoothly and we will open the Postbox soon, so get your caption request ready if you have any.

Sooooooooooooooo… maybe you folks seen me whining about this in the DS server a couple of times, but last year our SkS Tumblr account was banned without warning, I asked why to the mods and some months laters I was informed that the account was nuked because I used it to promote the art we made and that it would never, ever, be restored. I asked them it they were insane and… well, last week the account was restored and the mod claims it has been “double-checked to make sure it does not happen again”, wherever that means.

I was already working under the assumption that account was lost, you may have noticed I deleted the link to that webpage in the bios of the galleries, aint like if we have much of a saying in the whims of corpos… but now is back, just like that, as suddenly as it was taken away and I’m wondering…

Is it worth the effort of using the account?

The more nets you have in the river the more probable it is to catch fish, to catch attention, but I also have this mix of reluctance and perhaps laziness. If I had been banned for something I could own I would be less cold about the ordeal, but getting kicked for no reason and then getting it back for no reason too… dunno…

Do you people care about Tumblr?

If I were you, I'd also be of two minds. On the one hand, this whole kerfuffle would make me likewise reluctant to use Tumblr, lest a mod with similar ban-happy whims sought a repeat of the debacle. On the other hand... as long as it's available, it can't hurt. Besides, how long does it take to make a post? A few minutes? Even if the site's owners and moderators have the predictability and moral consistency of tricksters, it's still an established platform - not to mention, it's free. Business-wise, I'd continue using the Tumblr account, but not post anything exclusive there. However, if you opt to drop it like a bag of dung-bricks, it'd be perfectly understandable.
