Extra Art: Eldritch Lady

Like her mother and like her mother’s mother before her, Cassandra Grallows, eldest daughter of the Burnwich’s family, seemed to be a fine respectable lady. She worked as governess in Boston, was married to a prominent merchant of exotic goods and was the mother of two beautiful daughters. A proper well lived life… until the whispers began. A growing brain-scratching obsession pushed Cassandra to want to learn more, to investigate her family’s past, to seek eldritch knowledge. With every studied page the once refined lady desvirtued herself further away from social norm, she became gaunt and surly, abandoned her work and duties and eventually her own home.

The next and last time the world heard about Cassandra's whereabouts was in a police report from the city of Arkham in Massachusetts. In an incomprehensible act of hysteria the ex-governess broke into the halls of the Miskatonic University, killing a guard in the process, and locked herself in the restricted section of the university’s library. The police report asserted that Cassandra, as some crazed individuals before her, was looking for a particular book that was safe keeped in the vaults of the Miskatonic institution.

The police report also contain testimonies about the chants and gnarly inhuman sounds coming from the interior of the room in which Cassandra barricaded herself with the nefarious book.

By the time security opened the door it was far too late.

Like her mother and like her mother’s mother before her, Cassandra Grallows banished in the night to never be seen again by human eye, leaving behind only a broken window and the tattered slimed remains of her clothes…
