The gag with Hitomi is that she's put-upon and overworked and constantly stressed.... but as time goes on realizes that because she does so much EVERYTHING in her job is dependent on her, and leverages it to be in charge. And given what her boss was inflicting on her, no reason to not make that step. Yeah, had forgotten about this one, it'd been stuck in the back of the stash, but just dig how the dialog came out.
