Pre-Champ Interlude: Showdown With A Former Champion

Heheh.... Yeah, to celebrate Christmas Eve we're putting up this particular one. We had a picture sitting around of Lance looking a bit put-upon and weren't sure who to have him playing off of. After weighing options, Silver seemed like a fun and logical choice for a go-to babysitter for him. He's also living in Johto so he's on hand, he has a friendship with Lance after the events of HG/SS, and he has that sort of "gruff big brother" feel to him. Other options in mind were Drasna, Iris, and Ryuki, but wound up with Silver. Kinda wanted to have another update to Pre-Champ this month since everything else got two updates and this was kinda all we had on hand. Still very proud of it, even if it's a sort of in-betweener for Falkner fight. The reason we're posting it on Christmas Eve specifically is because the movie Silver's letting Lance watch is Angels With Filthy Souls, the movie Kevin wasn't allowed to watch in Home Alone. According to the movie Detective Pikachu, "Angels With Filthy Souls" is a film in the Pokemon universe for reasons that will never be explained. I guess Home Alone was set in the Pokemon Universe? The Wet Bandits DO feel like Team Rocket members..... Either way, I kinda liked the idea of Silver letting Lance watch that movie. Since he grew up with an absent dad that was a gangster it makes sense he'd know all the good Gangster flicks. And he's subtly indicating to Lance that it's okay to cover his eyes as they near the part where Kevin had to cover too, so he's pre-emptively avoiding any nightmares.
