Sublo Catering Scene and Some Musings

Here's a little scene from the next Sublo episode, where the gang is driving up to Markham. The music is obviously temp (shh!) along with some other elements - the painted BGs aren't in yet, for instance. Anyway I think this is the first time we've actually been inside a car in the show, I find public transit more interesting. I dunno if the little laugh at the end will make sense out of context. Or in context.

I've been making good progress on animation! I'd say the episode is probably about 2/3 animated, although I can feel my focus waning a bit the past few days as I've been distracted by various other jobs and tasks. Lately I've been feeling the stress and pressure of being a one-person operation. It can be overwhelming having all these admin tasks to figure out like setting up an online store, tax stuff, everything relating to releasing the work once it's actually done. They all feel secondary but they're important to stay on top of.

I like the freedom and flexibility of being totally independent, but part of me misses being part of a bigger team on a show and just getting to focus on doing the work itself, while others then took that work and packaged it however was needed. At the moment it feels like any day when I do get to just sit and be an animator on Sublo, the producer part of my brain is going "why aren't you setting up the online store today, or posting that music you made, or redesigning your website, or..." I guess the downside of having a lot of projects is that it always feels like you're neglecting some of them. Anyway that's my little vent for today, overall things aren't too bad over here.
