Sublo Zine Interview Trimmings
Added 2025-05-29 22:14:32 +0000 UTCI've been scrambling to get the Sublo and Tangy Mustard Production Notes zine to printers in time for the June 5 event I'm tabling at, and putting together stuff for the indie production workshops I mentioned, which have been a lot of fun so far.
I'll sell the zine online once I have it to make sure the quality is ok. I'll also offer a PDF version, maybe on Gumroad with a promo code for patrons or something. Still figuring that out.
Anyway the main point of this post is to share 45 minutes worth of audio trimmings from my conversations with the Sublo voice actors for the zine. There's Kevin (Tangy Mustard), Jack (Tito), Heather (Katy) and Shannon (Ashley). The other interviews were done via email.
Because the goal was to transcribe the conversations and grab quotes for print, the audio is rough - there's background noise and some interruptions, but I think it's listenable enough and a fun glimpse at some of the friendships behind the show. These aren't the whole conversations, because some of it is personal, and a lot of the Sublo talking points are going to be in the zine, but there are some expanded answers and random discussions here. Among other things, you'll hear Kevin leaving an audio surprise when I step away from the mic, Jack addressing his reputation for digging holes, Heather figuring out what comes up first when you type "sublo" and Shannon discussing arts careers.
I haven't gotten to work on the show itself in the past couple of weeks due to all these deadlines, but I'm almost ready to get back into the animation sprint.
