The way she’s holding the pizza reminds me of how Toon Link holds up items in Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. It’s also the outfit too lol It’s nice to see Cass again and her friendship with Katie. :) She seems like the outcast of her family, so I’m glad she found her people.

Surf's Up is a pretty good animated flick, I rewatched it a while back and it's still pretty fun! Definitely wondered what tf was up with the gibberish-speaking cannibal native penguins, though. So many kids shows/movies just can't help slipping in a dash of completely unexamined racism, even in a story about surfing birds

Did Cass take testosterone to achieve a deeper voice? Or does she just sound like that? Honestly their voice claim being Chicken Joe makes me so happy, Surf's Up is such an underrated movie. It definitely hasn't aged PERFECTLY (the indigenous penguins of the island come to mind) but I still think the story is genuinely heartwarming and poignant even all these years later

They were born with a pretty girly name given to them by their birth mom. Cass never liked her birth name, nor the nickname “Cassie”, and insisted on being known by Cass. Buddy jokes one day its short for Casserole, which Cass of course loves, and considers having their name legally changed to it(spooking poor Biscuit), but ultimately decides to change her legal name to Casper (Cass) Fletcher.

I like the idea of a Gundam + pilot) and 2) are they aware of Dom and 3) does that impact Katie's feelings about certain dolphins and 4) do all the above play D&D together and/or have preferences in anime? We know Taddeo loves the magical girl genre, which makes me think Cass probably has either immaculate taste and/or binges the latest Shonen series. Katie really is just out there doing the Naruto run and is cursed with that knowledge. I feel like Katie would have a preference for slice of life stuff, Brooke would be ~intellectual but tbh just gets super involved with Death Note-style dramas, and Dom...I think maybe Dom, in public, Does Not Watch Anime...well...maybe he *does* watch the ~cool stuff...he's actually most often found debating the latest plot twist of the magical girl anime he's watching with Taddeo.

Oh no worries, dude! You can delete it if you want, but there's no pressure. I guess I'm just sensitive about it because I've been doing character art for a long time, and I've noticed a distinct difference in how my female (or nonbinary, in Cass' case) characters are received vs how the males are. People can be super quick to the trigger to write off a messy female character as a bitch or a "karen" or a mary-sue or whatever, yet the male characters get endless forgiveness and interest and fanfics. It feels really reductive. I see it in fandom, I see it in my work, I see it mirrored in the real world. And for a long time I was nervous to write anything but super-sanitized female characters who never do anything objectionable, which made them boring af. Cass is being a little snotty here, but it doesn't make them a Karen, it just makes them a butthole, the same if it was Bruce or Bob being grumpy about a messed-up food order. Also, I am not at all trying to shame you or make you feel bad. I should've struck a friendlier tone in my first comment, my bad. :( EDIT: Patreon won't let me write another response but I wanted to say I really appreciate your response dude and I was definitely too quick to get up on a soapbox here.
