Garbage Dog

Hmmm I can’t believe I went like two years without mentioning Sunny’s job. He’s a sanitation worker! Or garbage man, as he’s often called. When he was younger, Sunny spent quite a while training for the career he’d dreamed of since he was a pup- and it ended up going wrong, so wrong, catastrophically wrong. It takes him a few years to get back on his paws, but the shame and guilt continue to eat at him. Since Sunny comes from wealthy parents, he could afford to drift through life, free from attachment but quietly unhappy. He was working as a waiter when he met Skye (she was actually at the restaurant getting stood up for a date, Sunny awkwardly tried to comfort her). Her friendship and drive inspired Sunny to dust himself off and take another shot at chasing happiness. So he aims for yet another childhood dream of his- to be a garbage dog!

Sanitation work suits Sunny like no job before. Equipped with a commercial driving license, he gets to drive a big ass garbage truck (which he affectionately named ”Sofia”) and actually get paid to handle garbage- every dog’s dream! Sunny is fond of rescuing stuff out of dumpsters to decorate his apartment with/wear as trendsetter fashion/eat, to Skye and Bruce’s never-ending chagrin.

-yes, that Skye photo is a King of the Hill reference. Sunny loves that pic more than anything, and he especially loved the indignant yip-fit Skye gave when she saw he’d stuck it to the window of a goddamned public service vehicle
