anyway here's a loose concept. while i'm not yet sold on the design, the personality is spot on. this is Smokescreen and Montezuma's (very) hypothetical daughter. She has no official name yet, but in my head I've been calling her Snap. Dragons typically name their hatchlings after a trait displayed at birth, and the very first thing Snap did upon entering the world was snap her sharp, SHARP baby teeth down on Smoky's muzzle. This is one of Monty's favorite memories. Much like her grandpapa, Snap possesses a surprising amount of bite force, and can crunch a femur in half like it was a baby carrot. As she bites to show affection, she does not make life easy for Smoky and Monty. Like most dragons, Snap has an instinct to hoard treasure, and thus collects many prized items such as shiny pebbles and bottlecaps. Although she doesn't really talk, she's nonetheless VERY vocal, typically chirping or clicking or screeching. She has an impressive gift for mimicry, and can imitate a great number of sounds (even voices) with unsettling accuracy. While she doesn't share Monty's love of riddles, she adores puzzles of any kind, and her dads often distract their screechy goblin child with various new puzzle toys.

The ship between them and Midnight has always been described as a crackship, so it’s baffling to me why so many cling to it as gospel. :/ I drew it for fun a few years ago, then got bored and stopped. T’was never canon. PB (and by extension, Midnight) are good friends of Smoky’s, owed in no small part by their tendency to slip Smoky free bakery treats.

No. Am I still elated? yES -- Consider: as a combination of traits from her fathers, Snap is able to spit an acid that is both high corrosive AND flammable, as well as shoot a thin stream of ultra-hot flame from her mouth that can serve as a lighter, kind of like Barf and Belch the Hideous Zippleback from HTTYD: https://howtotrainyourdragon.fandom.com/wiki/Hideous_Zippleback she's a little arsonist in training. Smokescreen can't help but wryly think that of COURSE his daughter would share this trait with his old best friend, Phoenix.
