oh, now this is really interesting! your reply about how stormy buried this part of him so deep down because he wanted to Always be Sweet And Nice And Kind, Not Like The Rest Of His Family is a really thought-provoking piece of his character. it's definitely important to note that sometimes it feels good to be mean for everyone, and if you always just smile and turn the other cheek it's... not necessarily the most healthy thing. you need to allow yourself to be angry, it's a human (pony?) emotion just like all our other ones, and if you don't let yourself experience anger in a healthy, constructive way it will eventually come out in a nastier fashion. it's very telling that after injuring zips, stormy decided he should quit racing altogether, instead of acknowledging that he can be competitive and competition can feel good--the racing was not the problem. i can't wait to see where you go with this!

I really love seeing this side of Stormy explored, as someone who actively tries very hard everyday to be nice to everyone despite some natural urges to be... not so nice to a lot of people... it really feels nice to see a character have something similar. I used to worry if it made me bad to have such urges, but then a quote from skyrim made me realize so long as I'm working everyday to be nice and kind, I'm good. "Which is better: to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?"

I imagine Bruce would be shocked to learn Stormy had so much as a mean bone in his body, but he'd ultimately be very supportive of exploring these desires in healthy ways. Stormy, meanwhile, would be terrified and ashamed that Bruce had found out, and would need LOTS of coaxing. There'd be lots of discussion between them, and Bruce would probably do a TON of reading and research. Lots of talk of comfort zones, promises of aftercare, cuddling and kisses, before Bruce hands Stormy a riding crop and tells him to do his worst. Healthy BDSM!

This honestly fills the last piece of the puzzle for me. When it came to Bruce and Stormys relationship Bruce (to me) always had the more developed character growth and backstoryy while stormy was more one note out of the two so its really interesting to see Stormy character being explored more

I think growing up, Stormy tried really hard to distance himself from his family, who can be a bit.....well, mean. Never intentionally, but y'know, Bell WAS Dash's childhood bully. They antagonize each other a lot, all in good fun, but Stormy was sensitive and didn't always like being the target of their teasing. It only gets worse when Phoenix, somewhat mirroring their parents, becomes Stormy's primary bully, tormenting and antagonizing him in an extremely misguided bid for his attention. So Stormy leans hard in the other direction, I'M not like my parents, not like my sister, I'M not mean, I'M a good kid, I am sweet and ALWAYS nice, even when others are mean. He takes that little fragment of himself, the part that would really like to be the one being mean for once, and buries it way, WAY deep down, where it festers, and festers, until it's threatening to rot him from the inside out by the time he meets Chakra. It's kind of like how Fluttershy has her own kinda-fucked up "Nastyshy" inside that's ready to burst out the second Iron Will teaches her to be a little assertive. Stormy is tired of being a doormat and wants to be the one in control for once.

Or it could simply be a bad case of two people feeding each other's monsters. Chakra and Stormy are a bad match that feel good together up to a certain point and thrn it just feels horrible. Stormy's breaking point with Chakra was probably his breaking point with his own self and he snapped

I adore the sadist Stormy stuff, I think about it a lot. I really love the whole idea of it being a choice. That it’s okay to have urges, and there’s a way to have safe outlets. Do you think Bruce would be up for gettin a little hurt? I mean this sexually lol, I think the concept of Bruce encouraging him, telling him it doesn’t make him a bad person, he’s in control... It’s nice.

Wow, Lop! I wasn't expecting that! To be completely honest, Stormy has been a comfort character for me for years, it was really nice seeing a character that was just so good and kind despite whatever shit he'd been through, and I related to it a lot, I still do. It still makes me so happy seeing him happy with Bruce, that after everything he is a good person and chooses to be good to other people. I guess that's why this was so surprising and even upset me a little, I remember when it was explored that Rosemary liked to fight with Cupcake and I do know that Stormy isn't perfect and can be dominat in a relationship, but it made me sad to learn that this is from a place of sadism, tbh. Of course this is just one person's opinion, I love that you explore so many sides to your characters, none of them are one dimensional or black and white, and that's one of the many reasons I've followed your work for so many years. I just wanted to give my thoughts since Stormy has always meant so much to me. Have a wonderful day!

My boi noooo ;0; (joking aside it is very interesting exploring a person's darker side :) ) Especially seeing how he is now. Idk makes me think seriously think Stormy has some repressed issues or trauma in his past he doesn't acknowledge or talk about and it manifest into this sadism. Not that I'm trying to downplay or excuse this behavior...I mean if he's this way just because that's still fine and interesting, but I guess maybe Im sort of filtering through my own experiences? I never hurt anyone but I wanted to and I went through a VERY dark period in my life were I hurt myself and did shit I really shouldn't in an effort to lash out and feel in control of my life. Stormy's mess of a love life, allowing himself to be manipulated by Chakra and benefiting from it, and allowing that darker part of himself to rein supreme just reaaaally strikes a cord with me and makes me think. And maybe Bruce wasn't the only one to drastically improve from their friendship.

A thought that immediately popped up after my HOT DAMN... Does this AU have a ripple affect on the relationship between Dash and Phoenix? While Phoenix has her own issues regardless of familial problems, it seems a decent chunk of them stemmed from jealousy and accidental favouritism. No doubt this side of Stormy and the actions he takes puts distance between him and his mother.. It makes me wonder if it ends up pushing Rainbow and Nix closer. THEN AGAIN, it could make the distance between them even worse if Rainbow just kept trying to get her son back and ended up ignoring her oldest daughter even more. HMMMN.
