Living in Color

There's something 'bout you
That makes my skies blue
And whenever we're through
All I can do is see color
There's something 'bout us
When we're together
Whenever you're there, everywhere
I see color

And maybe the world will never understand
Our kinda love

Say, "That's quite enough!"

But I'll fight for us.

Pride is cancelled this year so i'm gonna hitch up my sleeves and make my own Pride dammit

it has been TOO DAMN LONG since i drew my GIRLS! Ahhhhh feels good man

Okay so these two queerdos are packing a whole rainbow of pride swag. Both wear the colors of the rainbow flag as a show of pride and solidarity with the LGBT+ community.

Specifically, Cupcake is:

-Demisexual: A part of the asexual umbrella, in which a person doesn't experience sexual attraction unless a close emotional bond is formed. Growing up, Cupcake never really "got" other fillies' fixation with gorgeous celebrities and the like. Since she never really felt stirrings toward anyone, she just assumed she was disinterested in sexuality of any sort. However, after many years of friendship with Pandora, as their feelings toward each other developed, Cupcake began to develop attraction for her best friend, catching her entirely off-guard, what the heck Panny

-Panromantic: This just means Cupcake is capable of romantic feelings toward any person, regardless of their gender. Although Pan's gender identity fluctuates, Cupcake's feelings for her/him/them do not.

Pandora is:

-Pansexual: Pandora feels sexual attraction with little thought toward the other party's sex or gender identity. One time she fell in love with an especially colorful ball of yarn, and weeped most tragically upon discovering Fluttershy had knit him into a tasteful throw blanket. Pan is able to fall in love very easily, often latching onto the first pony to provide positive attention. In her quest not to drive away her partner, Pan wildly overcompensates trying to be the perfect mate, sometimes even using experimental magic to achieve this. Unfortunately, it mostly ends up blowing up in her face.

Although Pan is occasionally anxious about screwing things up with Cupcake, her tiny minion assures her that all she wants is for Pan to be herself, with whatever chaos that entails.

-Genderfluid: Pan's gender identity tends to vary. Female, male, neither, both, something else entirely. Much like her father Discord, Pan is a creature of chaos, and committing to one gender feels utterly bizarre and restrictive to her. Silly little ponies.

On a final academic note......these two are definitely about to smoochie

Really? I'm sorry to hear that. :/ I get it though, big events can be scary, and Pride can come with baggage. I hope you're able to go sometime, if you want to! To answer your question, Phoenix would go HARDCORE at Pride, personal pride is very important to pegasi, and Phoenix had to overcome a lot of personal issues to be as loud and proud about her identity as she is now. She'd be out there with the lesbian pride flag tied around her shoulders, biker jacket, butch hair cut, dyed feathers, 100% dyke pride. Vogue would be a bit more subdued, maybe just wearing a lesbian pride t-shirt, possibly stealing Phoenix's biker jacket. I see them having a big gooey moment where they catch sight of the other all sweaty and colorful and proud and HAPPY......and then Nix just has to swoop Vee up for big sappy kisses in the middle of the damn parade

God I love this so freaking much! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing pride content! I never went because anxiety. How would Vogue and Phoenix turn up at pride? (I'm sorry. I just love them so much XD)

KaeWolfe

Moondancer is bi, yes. :>

Lopoddity

Is Moondancer Bi? I’ve always wondered this because I see you shipping him with mostly Pan and Zee but also in an AU where Butch was still alive.

MyLittleVerse

Which ones? :>

Also, if you're in the mood for Pride and the Pandoraverse, I think a little series of Pride couples (or friendships) like this one would be awesome :D

Heather

Thank you for such a detailed response! I hope I didn’t sound accusatory about you taking it; I didn’t mean it that way at all. I’ve just wondered that for a while now and was curious if you knew. So it was a unifying flag from the beginning! That’s really awesome, I had no idea ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

I decided to do some reading! The rainbow flag is also called the gay pride flag, and is often associated with gay men. It was first designed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, a gay man and drag queen, who wanted a unifying symbol for the gay community. In 1994, Gilbert designed a mile-long version of the flag to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall riots. It was here in the 90s that the rainbow flag was established as the symbol for LGBTQ+ pride. Although it began its life as the gay pride flag, the rainbow flag's symbolism has been transferred to represent the extended queer community. Gilbert himself was quick to remind that it wasn't "his flag", but "our flag". Certainly the flag is for gay men, and often used to represent their pride. I'm not trying to steal the flag from them, just saying it's meant to cover the whole community. As a queer woman I wear rainbow items myself, the colors just feel so nice and right.

Also Lop, don’t know if you’re comfortable answering this, but do you think wearing/flaunting a rainbow to pride only implies a specific sexuality if it’s a guy? I mean, I always took the rainbow flag (despite being a vast and perhaps androcentric umbrella symbol for sexualities/identities) as being SPECIFICALLY for MLM. Thoughts on that?

Yes!!!! Love me some relatable demisexual WLW content. Also dat n e c k

I've missed these lovebirds! Gorgeous, mooshey drawing.

Kyri Arriaga

Lovely LGBT gals! Would love to see how Pan presents on a 'both' or 'neither' day at some point, as your portrayal of genderfluidity mixed with her chaos magic is really cool!
