Earth ponies possess the unique ability to channel magic through their hooves. While not as precise as unicorn spellcasting, it allows them to pour magic directly into the roots of their crops to ensure a bountiful harvest. A well-practiced earth pony can "push" flowers to blossom, or new shoots to sprout, with only a single, gentle touch. This is why earth ponies are considered the backbone of modern Equestria, without their unique influence over the harvest, ponies everywhere would starve.
Magic flows through the legs, hooves, and haunches of earth ponies, contributing to their increased strength and earth-shattering kicks.
