American Kitsune Book 1 Republish!

When I first began publishing, I was ignorant. I knew nothing about publishing, light novels, or anything. I just knew I wanted to write a book and put it out there.

My first series ever published was kinda sloppy. Because I didn't know much about publishing, the books were not as good as they could have been, and the trim size I used was monstrously huge. 6x9 inches.

Now that I know a bit more about publishing, I've decided to republish my original series in paperback using the same dimensions all my other books use. To that end, I've redone my book cover to be more in line with my other books.

What do you all think?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll make the change and see how it looks. The legibility of the blurb text is pretty important, after all.

The back text blurb in the window is kinda hard to read. For me it just fades into the semi white background brehind the text. Might want to make the letters outlined in black a bit more strongly.

Oops. I forgot to change that. I used the back cover for Incubus when I made this. It's supposed to be rated T. Thanks for catching that. It would have been bad if I published with that on there.

I agree the writing style is a US/European High School would have gotten the books. But on the cover is R18 with scenes to match...... This would have been a lower rating in Japan it would probably be sold 14-15-16 (i forget there rating systems) so high school age but it does say on the cover R18 and i would have loved this book back when i was In US and was 14,15,16 and 18 back in the 90's when i was ending high school more than now. Just my thought I loved the book either way.

Yeah. I don't expect people who already own the books to buy these. This is more to add another edition for those who want volumes that match my other works. :-)

I am actually making this because of my OCD. American Kitsune books do not have the same dimension as my other works.

I'm glad you enjoy it...but American Kitsune is a young adult series, so it's made with high schoolers in mind. Just wanted to point that out.

i love the new cover if this if book was for pg-13 crowd but as this is adult and not pg-13 crowd i would make her more risque maybe raise her shirt or reduce amount of shirt.

I approve, except for the pain of having to rebuy it because having a mismatched set would play hell with my OCD.

For the new books that is.

For those who don't have the physical copies yet it is a very good idea.

Tim Nielsen

It does look nicely done pretty similar to the first one except for the size like you say. But for me the first set you put out are good enough for me. =_)

Tim Nielsen

No. I'm just republishing the print version.

Will this affect the kindle versions any?

Well, 6x9 inches is big compared to other books. Yen Press dimensions are 5.5 x 8.25, which is the size I use for my other light novels. It is comparatively large.

Thank you. It's gonna be the same trim size as my other books too, which all use the dimensions Yen Press uses in their published works. That way it'll look good alongside everyone's Japanese light novels.

Looks very well done! I look forward to adding it to my collection :)

Pretty! Even though I’ll admit I wouldn’t say I think the first is monstrously huge.
