Telling her the truth about what he has done would doom them both, so he keeps up the act, even as they find themselves alone at Spinner’s End. But the line between pretending and no longer pretending begins to blur, especially when everything he once held dear has crumbled into bitter disappointment.
Notes: Please heed the warnings. This story features a dark version of our beloved professor as previously featured in "A Bitter Victory". I'm going more in depth here to showcase how his darker side slowly gains the upper hand and how he will - hopefully - eventually overcome that part of himself. I will also expand on the one-shot episode and add more scenes and more plot as we go forward though some things will of course remain similar to the previous story.

I love how we get to see things from Severus point of view and how conflict did he is by the situation he finds himself in. His core decency and kindness battling with the need for safety and protection for the girl. This is going to be an epic story. Can't wait for the second chapter.

The woman is lucky she got him instead one of those other psycho thugs. But how could she know. There is psychological damage in both of them.
