Ballpoint Hermaphrodites
Added 2017-07-11 20:08:53 +0000 UTCI really like hermaphrodites, not necessarily as a fetish, but just playing around with the idea of sex and identity and gender and the 'completeness' of being able to clone oneself or whatever.
The doodle-session evolved into a species where males are the caretakers of infants and females are the warriors (Basically swapped waist-up skeletons and sex characteristics :P) and all the sociopolitical implications that would arise from that kind of reassignment of gender.

Take a look at the sketches. It's the males who have mammaries :P Some male animals will lactate, so I imagine something happened in their social history during which it was more successful for the males to stay home with children. Perhaps some kind of disease that wiped out a huge percentage of the male population. They had to be protected and in the process those men who lactated were socially selected until they all did.

2017-07-11 21:36:47 +0000 UTC*muses* If the males are the caretakers, but the females still have the breasts for nursing, how do the males keep the infants fed? It would work fine for children old enough for solid food, but it seems awkward for babies... maybe there's a transitional stage?
