D&D Beyond + The Forge = Win!

Hello everybody!

I finally have the good news I'd promised you all back in January! The D&D Beyond integration with The Forge is finally available for you to try as an early access beta to you, my patrons!

It still require quite a bit of work before I can consider it stable, and you can follow on this page for a status of the support in the conversion.

At the moment, here are some of the bigger known issues : 

• Imports are always under the same module/world name, so it will overwrite your previous import without asking for confirmation
• Backgrounds and Feats are not yet converted
• Monster, or spell data may be inaccurate
• Journal entries may refer to links which are invalid or do not cross-reference the appropriate journal/spell/monster/etc…
• Due to Foundry’s lack of support for folders in compendium packs, converting to a module might lead to less than optimal results. We will improve this in the future with a custom interface.
• Content referencing a different book will not be correctly copied (for example an NPC in Curse of Strahd would not have any spells since those spells come from the PHB/SRD and are not specific to Curse of Strahd. Likewise, monsters referred to in that adventure would not be imported unless they only exist within that adventure)
• Adventure scenes have the name of the journal entry that refers to them, not the name of the actual location
• Adventure scenes do not have any walling, lighting, token information.

Note that the access to the feature is available for patrons of the 5$ tier, which will allow importing rule books, while the 10$ tier will allow imports of adventure books. You can import your content by going to the D&D Beyond section on the Bazaar.

I expect this feature to evolve much more rapidly in the coming months and I'd appreciate any feedback you can provide on the entire process, both in terms of the Forge integration and the conversion of the data itself.
