Tribute Piece [News and Updates]
Added 2023-06-19 06:33:22 +0000 UTCSorry I haven't been posting at my usual rate this past month, but there is a reason for my spotty presence and absence from social media and here.
This month has been really hard for myself and my family. First the me news.
Not only am I being bumped up to full time on my day job starting next week- meaning I won't be able to work on my comics here as much as I would like to- -- but very recently the algorithm for my twitter has gone a bit screwy, and I'm not getting my regulars or usual numbers and people viewing my stuff (not sure if there is a technical issue going on on twitter side. If anyone knows, please let me know). I'm gonna try and sort that out, if not start a new, backup account in case it's something serious.
However, aside from my personal stuff, but on the side of my family, one of my close relatives recently passed away. My grandma. She had a heart attack over a month ago and they were able to save her, but she since passed away in hospital a few days ago and my family and I have been dealing with that.
In cleaning her home, I managed to retrieve the above picture of Kenshin X Kaoru, which I drew for her 16 years ago, and she has had on her fridge for the last 16 years since I gave it to her for a Christmas present. I wanted to share this with you all, in honour of her.
It was a hard moment retrieving it and being there with her in hospital after she died. In the lead up to her funeral, I'm going to be drawing another picture like this for her and present it on the day.
I'll be trying to get more work done to keep my mind occupied. However, I will be taking days off because of the upcoming funeral AND the enormous workload coming my way.
Thank you all, my amazing fans and followers, for being here with me and for helping me to build this community on my channel over all these years. Rest assured I will be here for as long as I am healthy and will continue to produce the work you have all come to expect from me.

Thank you so much. Just had the funeral on Friday, so it's still pretty fresh. But I'm managing so far.

Hell, I lost both of my grandparents almost two years ago, and I'm still struggling to deal with the grief today. I just hope you don't end up being stuck with those struggles for as long as I have. Also, that drawing is really, really good. It truly speaks to your talent as an artist. Regardless, I wish you the very best. And just know that your grandma will always be with you in spirit.

This Thursday that just passed my Aunt passed away after multiple attempts of saving her from cancer over the last several months. I also lost my Uncle in April and Grandfather in March. So I hope that you can find time for yourself to rest and heal alongside your family.

She passed away with the biggest smile, and thus. She watches over you and your relatives. Especially the gift you gave her 16 years ago. Please take good care at the Funeral and your workload. You deserve to have a break for everything you've done for us. Rest well and smile.

I assume might’ve been pretty little when you first drew this, it looks amazing, from the bird to the well drawn flowers. My Grandmother who raised me for half my childhood while my parents were still in high school used to put each of my drawings she could get her hands on, including pages from a coloring book I had and placed a lot of on the fridge and kept a few in her office.
