Gohan and Maverick [Top Gun/DBZ Crossover][Sketch]

Wow.

I just walked out of the cinema after watching the new Top Gun: Maverick. And I have to say... even though we're only part way through this year... I think I have personally found the home run hit winner of which movie is going to go down as the greatest movie I've seen in 2022... and perhaps in the last half a decade.

This movie was an experience. It was a film that not only pays proper homage to the bombastic movies of the 80s, but also (unlike the Star Wars sequels and other franchises of its ilk) pays proper respect to the original lore, the history, the story, the characters, the director, and the actors. It doesn't wallow in nostalgia or tear old characters to shreds to elevate the new ones.

Regardless of what you think of the lead, it is definitely movie of this year. I recommend you go watch it, because I'm definitely seeing it several times. It's getting ALL my support.

Yeah it's mostly useful for dogfights that drag on to low speed, so you basically have more options to use your remaining energy, while your opponent hopefully does not.

I also heard that as well. On paper this seems like the case, and I do agree to an extent, but in real life in a dog fight, it's probably a very easy way to die- especially when the whole point of high speed dog fighting in modern day jets is to out manoeuvre the opponent with blazing speed, turns, and throwing off the enemy's targeting. Kind of hard to do that when you are braking hard into a very awkward angle and exposing yourself to all sorts of fire and giving a far off opponent the opportunity to zero in on you.

Actually the cobra maneuver does have real world applications, just not in the way many people think. Most think its some form of post stall maneuver that you use to make your opponent overshoot so you can get behind them, which could happen. But mostly it is useful for increasing your angle-of-attack, so if you are turning into your opponent if you pull off a cobra then your can get your nose pointed at them when you otherwise couldn't with older or less maneuverable jets.

Even though the cobra manoeuvre technically doesn't have any real-world battle application advantages outside of air shows- since lifting the plane and stalling it like that causes you to slow in midair and be exposed to long-range missile attacks from the enemy- it was still a super awesome fight on screen. :)

I don't know if spoilers are allowed so I'll be vague, my favorite scene was the whole battle with the 5th Gen fighters, that maneuver that one did was epic. Though it seemed to be an upside down cobra which I don't think is all that possible but cool none the less.

Only if it is good

Do you think you’re gonna do a crossover of the new avatar movie that comes out this fall?
