January Update (Next video and 2024 plans)

Hey everyone!

 The last month, after a few weeks of Holiday rest, have been about me preparing for all the videos I want to put forward this year. You’ve already seen one finally released as part of a birthday trip I mentioned a while back, and now it’s time for me to finish the next major project, which is the long promised Return to Monkey Island video. I decided in the end it would be better to release a theme park video, specifically Disney related, before I got into the final edit. Hopefully that will make sense when it’s finally completed this month.

 My plans for TV related content haven’t changed either. The last major roadmap video essay is going to be my main priority after Return, with most of the draft coming along nicely, but in the meantime I’ve been rewatching all of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul between work in preparation for a video on Saul’s final season. I had some notes and the major feel of what I wanted to say, but I wanted to experience the whole picture of both shows together now they’d fully wrapped the story, which was extremely useful. That’s not going to be a long video but I’m excited about getting it done as I think I have some unspoken and interesting things to put forward. The Venture Bros finale discussion would hopefully follow after that. A few other things are on the boil, including an old draft I rediscovered that I think might be worth putting out there, but I won’t promise any more than I’ve already presented and am attempting to get finished at the moment.

 However, the thing this year I am pushing like hell to get out there is the Marvel project, and the good news is that I think I’m very close, closer than ever before. I have a list of actors and artists I’m ready to email, I have almost all of the material I want adapted chosen and typed up, I have full drafts of all the videos in the series. But one thing is kicking me in the ass in the final video that I can’t talk about and I am struggling to find a way to resolve it, and not having that is really going to make things difficult to commit to long term. It’s something I’m now reaching out to people to try and help with, and my hope is, once this issue is dealt with, I can finally enter production. I know it might seem strange that a Marvel series that’s already laid out before me when I’m just presenting it via a YouTube retrospective should cause me that kind of trouble, but all will make sense when everything is finally out there. I apologise again for it taking so long, but I just need to get this right, and I am pushing to get there without sacrificing the amount of stuff I’m still making for the channel.

 Last but not least there’s a new commentary for ASM’s now available in the previous post. More rewards are on the way as the year goes along, and it’s been nice making sure there’s a stash of B-Extras for folks to enjoy. I really want to continue that trend and try to give back to you folks for your patience and support. I know there’s been a lot of stall’s but I’m really hoping once this Marvel thing is licked I’ll be much more able to just start getting things moving. In the meantime I hope you're all well and got a kick out of the last video. We're getting into the serious stuff now- and I really hope you feel it's worth the wait.
