I liked the video a lot, but it left me wondering if it makes sense for a hobby tinkerer like me to learn Ansible in order to set up a home server once in a few years. After all, it's much easier to just do a fresh install and spin up a few containers based on docker compose file. Next time I will need an Ansible script will be maybe in two years, when a lot of things will change and something new needs to be learned again.

2021-12-23 19:40:57 +0000 UTCdude, awesome to watch from start to finish, will for sure check out the resources you pointed out at the end because, as you say, this is a valuable skill, more now than ever with the whole IoT going on, and in deep video could be super cool too even if a lot of people may not watch it, also, cool that you are looking at the smart home stuff, is indeed a nice QoL to have, the NixOS joke got me lmao
