I see! Though I haven't had experience with Nextcloud having trouble accessing files, not having to use DAVx for syncing would be pretty nice. Sadly I need to make repeatable tasks which need another app (tasks.org) that would then be synced through DAVx. I'll turn my server off later to look into the notification spam, cause that might be very annoying indeed if the server is unavailable.

Only the fact that it's native and built into the OS – no need to download an extra app. As far as I know, Nextcloud app on Android has some limitations when it comes to accessing files since it can't have all the same permissions as a system app. Not sure if that's still the case though. Plus, in order to sync conctacts/calendars from Nextcloud you'll have to download an extra app (DAVx) which has an annoying tendency to spam notifications when a server is not available.

As a normie, I am currently very satisfied with my sony xperia xz1 with iodé. I also like bitwarden autofill a little too much to switch over. The native nextcloud sounds pretty interesting however. Is there a major difference between the regular nextcloud synchronization app on Fdroid compared to the native nextcloud on sailfish?
