It's about impulses and getting rich now. What I like about The Sopranos is that most of the regular mobsters are portrayed realistically dumb, but the show still finds ways to make them likable, although they are getting rich on other people's misery. At the same time, we as viewers become like their victims, charmed and manipulated by these characters precisely because they are so skilled at being sociopaths.

2025-10-06 12:41:30 +0000 UTCJackie Jr's father was the boss who died of cancer in the first season. Richie, the guy Janice lit up, was his uncle. Jackie Jr is also an intellectual whose caliber we haven't seen since the untimely passing of Sean Gismonte and Matt Drinkwater Bevilaqua.
