National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) Uncut Reaction!

When I was 5 years old, my dad took us on a road trip to CA. He swung by Disneyland on our way home...and it was closed. It was a Tuesday. I'll never forget it. My psyche was forever warped. "In the 1950s and early 1960s, Disneyland used to close on Mondays (and often Tuesdays) during the off-season."

My grandmother had us sleeping under the stars since before I can remember. No tent, just sleeping bag on the ground. She said tents were for pussies.God, I miss her. πŸ’•

For more of Chevy Chase's physical comedy, watch the films Fletch (1985) and Fletch Lives (1989). You'll love them.

You talked about both Chevy Chase and Will Ferrell. The connection between the two of them is that both actors got their start on SNL. Chevy was with the original group that started Saturday Night Live. Actually, Jason Reitman just made a film about how chaotic the hour and a half before the first SNL episode was. The film is called Saturday Night. I actually highly recommend it. :)

Chevy is a very talented comedian, but he is known for being one of the hardest actors in Hollywood to work with. Chris Columbus, director of Home Alone, was originally supposed to direct Home Alone, had a one meeting with Chevy and after that one meeting he went straight to John Hughes and dropped out right away because of how much of an asshole he was being in just that one meeting. John Hughes apologized and understood and when John got done writing Home Alone Chris was his first call to direct Home Alone to make up for experience with Chevy.

There is five films in the Vacation franchise: Vacation (1983), European Vacation, Christmas Vacation (my favorite of the franchise), Vegas Vacation, and Vacation (2015). Highly recommend watching the entire franchise, but at least Christmas Vacation.

It's awesome seeing James reacting to these classic comedies.

Brain implosion inducing movies like these are always a treasure.
