The Wire Season 3 EP 7 & 8 Early Uncut Access

Season 3 is finally here! Happy to be getting into more of The Wire! Instead of expansion we are entering a more localized terror that's building within the character and landscape of Baltimore.

The Wire Season 3 EP 7 & 8 Early Uncut Access

Beautifully stated, man

The Wire is in a class of its own and came out at a time where no tv shows were even attempting to do what it was doing, let alone succeeding on such a level. Season 2 is often thought of as lesser only because season 3 ramps things up and blossoms into season 4 perfectly, which continues to elevate the material by diving deeper into the interconnected aspects of society that feed the larger narrative. It very much takes heed of Deacon's talk with Colvin about seeing the whole elephant as opposed to the one piece of it that you see from your one perspective in the grander scheme of society. I don't even want to say too much, I'm more interested in seeing your perspective of the Elephant that is the Wire and its full context of the entire show. That said, I love getting to rewatch it in tandem with a fresh perspective of someone who hasn't seen it before- is always fantastic to get that on rewatch.

Yup exactly right. episode 8 was why so many was excited for this season. Crazy part is there is still some more crazy ish that happens in this show. Basically this show deserves it's universal praise it gets.

If you want another show like The Wire when you're done this series, then check out Treme. It's the HBO series that David Simon made right after The Wire was finished, about life in a New Orleans neighborhood after Hurricane Katrina. It focuses more on the people rather than the cop/criminal relationship, but there's a little bit of that as well. It wasn't as popular as The Wire, but IMO the writing and characters are just as good. Plus you get Clark Peters (Lester) and Wendell Pierce (Bunk) as lead characters. Just look up the opening credits theme on youtube, it's a total banger.

Episode 8 is just great scene after great scene. The Deacon and Colvin, The Deacon and Cutty, Breanna and McNulty, Stringer and Avon.

Ingemar Svensson

Episode 7: The gun was wrapped in the tie that Omar bought for the court appearance. It shows that Omar and the police are even and no more favors will be required. "You do you".

Bd Blake

Michael Hyatt. I can never get over the fact that she actually goes by Michael as a first name because she was such a big fan of Michael Jackson growing up so she got stuck with that nickname and she just went with it.

Ingemar Svensson

The actress who plays D'Angelo's mom is so good. That scene with McNulty is a real gut-punch.

Kana Kawase

Back-to-back great episodes. The scene with Avon and Stringer that closes episode 8 is just amazing.
