The Wire EP 11 & 12 Early Uncut Access

The Wire is finally coming to the scene and I'm excited to get into this narrative. I'm genuinely already immersed within this world and it's characters and can't wait for the journey that's about to unfold. The writing, filmmaking, compositions etc, all remind me of what makes a GREAT show stand out from just a good one. Let's get it!

The Wire EP 11 & 12 Early Uncut Access

Comments

The only reason I care is I could only afford one month ($10) and will only get two weeks of his reactions in that time instead of the 4 I thought I was paying for. No ones fault really. Just sad luck on my end. Cheers to James and cheers to sunny!

Natalie Cook

I don't know if there's a more iconic line in TV history than "Where's Wallace?!"

TES

I made it here! I wanna keep up with the show live.

Legato

Let's be real he took a break already though. 4 episodes of Sunny drop in the last two months. I am understanding but we really do need a schedule of some kind.

Cliff Douglas

I think he takes a break between seasons

William Davis

Brother man, if you love The Wire, you should watch David Simon's latest project "WE OWN THIS CITY" it has a lot of the same actors in it as well, and it is really really good.

The Chosen

Where is the always sunny drop James πŸ™ˆ

Natalie Cook

I am very excited for season 2 it is very divisive, but it is one of my favorite seasons.

Justin Broadbent

Awesome stuff as always James. Just want to be helpful and add a little bit of context to fill in a few gaps that idk if you did or didn't pick up on and that I haven't seen in the comments yet. First is that the conversation we see in the car between Bodie and Stringer was definitely the order to kill Wallace. When Bodie tells String that Wallace's "heart pumps Koolaid", Stringer takes that as he isn't reliable enough to let live (which as terrible as it is, he is correct because killing Wallace is what keeps Stringer from being arrested). Stringer then asked Bodie if he is strong enough and Bodie has to say yes because he'd be in the same boat that Wallace is in. Bodie essentially has to kill Wallace or his own life is in danger. Stringer never outright gives an actual order because of how careful he always is, but that was the implication. Second, I just want to point out that we meet D's mom this episode and to remember that Avon is also D's uncle. So you can infer from that that Avon is her brother. In fact, she's actually Avon's OLDER sister. That's why she carries sway with him and she can talk to Avon how she does after D is arrested. It's nothing major, just didn't want the nature of that dynamic to be lost, as we might see more interaction between them going forward.

Tom McTernan

The cop in Episode 12 is actually a security guard. She is the security guard lady who testified at D’Angelo’s trial in the first episode. This is all fall out from Levy’s discussion with Avon and Stringer about β€œcleaning up” any loose ends

Amy Heiser

There are a lot of subtle things that are so nice with this show. Like Poot and Bodie looking at each other in the dark stairwell parallelled by McNulty and Daniels looking at each other in another dark stairwell. That's something the show does a lot. Basically showing the same themes in both the police scenes and the drug scenes but with slightly different implications.

Ingemar Svensson

I always love the Rawls/McNulty scene in the hospital. It really gives depth to Rawls and beautiful emoting by Dominic West

James Adams

Damn. This show gives me whiplash. It hurts so good.

Linda

I'm glad James takes time to see the world. Every young man and woman should travel, even just exploring your own state if resources are limited. πŸ’–

Linda

No pressure. πŸ˜…

Linda

You know, if you listen to it right, it sounds like Bubs is singing the intro song.

Bd Blake

RIP Wallace. One of my favorite lines is when Daniels says β€œYou’d rather live in shit than let the world see you work a shovel” to the police commissioner. I feel like it sums up the problem with all the authority figures in this show, they refuse to do what’s right because they don’t want to deal with the humiliation of admitting that anything is wrong.

William Davis

I’m so happy you are doing the wire but I might have to wait for you to finish so I can binge 😭

Young Simba

Back when you were on vacation, and there were no new Wire reactions, I thought about posting the following, but decided not to because it might be a spoiler of sorts: Where's The Wire at? Where's the reaction, James? That's all I wanna know. Where the f*** is The Wire, huh? James! James! Look at me! Look at me! Where the f*** is The Wire?!
