Freaks 1932

tjr

Hell yes, that was my favorite horror film of 2022

Michael Proch

Hell yes! I've been singing this shows praises for years, I'd die if James watched it. The episodes are short, and there's only three seasons.

Michael Proch

Please, please, PLEASE look at "Mr Inbetween" it is an amazing series, truly phenomenal acting and writing, and it is still under the radar in general, despite being the best show to come out of Australia. Trust me you won't regret it if you start watching this.

The Chosen

Barbarian

Pontus Persson

As Above So Below

Jordan

I consolidated my picks: Fright Night Coma Shadow of the Vampire Homicidal  Single White Female Lake Placid

Linda

😄

Linda

The Visit is a great one, genuinely scary and funny, and one of the most visually interesting uses of found-footage style

ryan

What’s up?

Michael Proch

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) - all star cast and Francis Ford Coppola directing. It pays homage to classic "hammer horror" films The Others (2001) - wonderful example of how to do a haunted house film.

Sonia Deepak

Talk To Me

Alma

💯 That's why I suggested it 😆

JL Green

Salem's Lot freaked me out. 😄

Linda

If you want to laugh try Blacula or A Vampire in Brooklyn

MsKofi

I would like to second The Descent (very scary) and What We Do in the Shadows (very funny). Both have some cool cinematography!

ChloeGameDev

I literally dreamt last night that you watched Dick Tracy. So I’m going to manifest that & put it out there!

Tim C

After watching the first episode of Uzumaki, this anime is perfect for October. It's also one of the few anime where the dub is probably worth watching more than the sub because the art and animation are extremely important to focus on.

Chaos T

The Empty Man is a great and underrated and weird horror film

ryan

Mimic. Baby Blues 2008

Maurissa Fields

The Descent Apostle Barbarian Green Inferno The Black Phone Doctor Sleep Autopsy of Jane Doe 1408 Ju-On not horror, but fun recommendation: Hobo with a Shotgun

Jordan

Italy! 🇮🇹

James Adams

Love Kill List. That movie really snuck up behind me because I didn’t realize it was going to be a horror movie.

Michael Proch

Oooh, Frailty. Don’t hear people talking about that one enough.

Michael Proch

Baskin

Ken North

Yay! Waiting for the Sunny drop 👀🥰🍿

Natalie Cook

I’ll suggest What We Do in the Shadows (movie not tv show) as a good Halloween watch! Or Young Frankenstein.

Megan Donnelly

Smile

James Edwards

If you took a photo of my face right before watching The Wailing and then immediately after, you’d think I’d have died

Michael Proch

Hope you don't mind. Not trying to be nosey but where did you vacation at? In the tropics? Because it looks pretty chill. I am looking to take a long due out of country vacation for the first time.

Cliff Douglas

smile evil dead (2013) talk to me

Leric

When Evil Lurks 2023, Argentinian film very very disturbing if you wanna watch something crazy fr lol

Nata Xano

I second the original [REC], subbed not dubbed. If you can’t find the subbed version then it’s not worth it

Michael Proch

[REC] (2007) - make sure it’s the original version with Spanish audio and English subtitles. The dubbed version is ass It’s a found footage zombie movie set in Barcelona that follows a journalist tagging along with a fire department’s night shift. The acting is so believable (the main character was an actual TV reporter) and the camerawork is top tier (chaotic but with a lot of attention to detail). The set is cool too; almost everything takes place in a 5 story apartment building. The last stretch of the movie was some of the most terrifying shit I’d ever seen (i’ve seen it so many times now that i’m numb lol) another two that i think are great for reactors: Grave Encounters (2011) - basically “what if the crew of a ghost-hunting show ended up trapped with real ghosts?”. Strong nostalgia factor depending on how old you are. Sinister (2012) - great score and SO much ATMOSPHERE. Grungy, spooky, a bit cursed. Has what everybody online says is the best jumpscare of all time. hope you had a fun trip, and welcome back!

Kishavo

Okay you already watched Cure, so I’ve gotta recommend “Pulse” from the same director. “Caché” is another really great dark French thriller. And if you want some more Cronenberg, I’ve gotta recommend “Existenz”, “Crash”, and “Dead Ringers” as three great ones I don’t think you’ve done yet.

Michael Proch

James, my man, how have you not reacted to Hitchcock's Rear Window? Fantastic thriller for October.

RICHARD

Was on the sci-fi poll a couple of times but didn't get any love. Great little movie though.

Tetley

Welcome back James! Really psyched for some curb reactions. Couple of horror suggestions. Goodnight mommy (2014) and Speak No Evil (2022). Two Euro modern horror classics. Guaranteed to give you chills and also make you think.

Tetley

I'll second berberian sound studio

Tetley

"Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992) by Francis Ford Coppola. This film is particularly interesting from a filmmaking perspective, because all the special effects were made using old school on-set and in-camera techniques, like multiple exposures, forced perspective, and so on, basically only effects that would have been possible to achieve at very end of the 19th century, when the story takes place. It makes this movie weirdly timeless.

LeBrigand

Cannot wait for Curb!!

Megan Donnelly

Some suggestions: The Cabinet of Dr Caligari (1920) - setting the standard for horror Nosferatu (1922) - especially as Robert Eggers' remake is coming out this year Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) - Werner Herzog's remake Any of the original Universal Horror movies of the 1930s Peeping Tom (1960) - The film that came out just before Psycho but didn't do as well Ravenous (1999) - loosely based on the Donner Party of 1847, but with added Wendigo A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) - Korean horror at its best

Brett Coster

Hell yes to The Innocents

Kaitlin

The Others (2001) - just a terrific, very classically styled ghost story with Nicole Kidman. The Guest (2014) - some more Lance Reddick! But also a top notch John Carpenter-riffing slow burn.

Martin Heron

Horror Suggestions: The Innocents (1961) The Night House (2020) Noroi: The Curse (2005) Ghostwatch (1991) Deadstream (2022) Pontypool (2008) Exhuma (2024) In the Mouth of Madness (1994) When Evil Lurks (2023) Late Night with the Devil (2023) Uzumaki (2000)

Kelvin

Kill List

Rant Casey

Welcome back, hope you had a great trip! My suggestion for a creepy movie that I think you would enjoy is Trolljegeren(Troll Hunter) 2010. It's a lesser known Norwegian movie that really delivers above its budget and has gotten a bit of a cult following.

Lindeman

Stir of Echoes, In the Mouth of Madness, Pet Sematary (1989), The Others, Dead Ringers, The House of the Devil, Tales From the Hood, Wolf Creek, The Loved Ones, The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Virgo

I love Vampire''s Kiss so much. People get pissed when I say that, and insinuate I am trying to be different or unique lmao

Virgo

Horror Movie Suggestions ; Burn't Offerings Count Yorga, Vampire The Abominable Dr. Phibes Halloween (2018) Willard (1970) Salem's Lot (1979) 30 Days Of Night

JL Green

Apostle (2018) Berberian Sound Studio (2012) Kill List (2011)

Stephen

Stir of Echoes (1999) The Changeling (1980) Frailty (2001) In the Mouth of Madness (1994)

kbobravo

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010) rewatch Late Night with the Devil (2024) Less popular, and definitely polarizing, but I loved “In a Violent Nature” (2024)

Alex Thrailkill

Possessor (2020) is a great body horror / thriller. Get the uncut version though!

Zach Moroney

Yes be on the lookout today homie!

James Adams

Oh and welcome back dude hope you had fun.

Moustache Rousse

Year 2 of asking for Rob Zombies trilogy : House of a 1000 corpses / The devil's rejects / 3 from hell

Moustache Rousse

Welcome back James! Love getting into some creepy vibe movies in October. Going to hit you with some of my favourites that I don't think you've hit yet. Apologies in advance if this is too many / too much info :) Enjoy the season! 1. Sinister (2012) - Legit scary and Ethan Hawke is the man. Would love your POV on the direction and cinematography and why it works so well to make the atmosphere in this movie. 2. In the Mouth of Madness (1994) - My favourite John Carpenter outside of The Thing. Super creepy and fun cosmic horror mind bender. 3. Fresh (2022) - New, fun, and under appreciated. Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sebastian Stan are great. 4. When Evil Lurks (2023) - Want to be legitimately freaked out? Watch this crazy Spanish horror movie. Interesting new take on demons.

Keegan Duffy

Carrie (1976) or Last Night in Soho (2021)?

The American Captain

can we get the uncut reactions for these last office ep you posted?

Foggy

Check out Longlegs, James! It’s a divisive one, but me and many of my friends loved it. I hope you do too.

Ben Walker

I Saw The TV Glow (2024) - very spooky and moving

Kaitlin

The Others with Nicole Kidman is perfect for this time of year! The atmosphere, the spooks and most of all the story is chefs kiss! Can't recommend enough

Late Night With The Devil

Mister Lou

In the Mouth of Madness

YourWineStopLAKENORMAN

Love that jacket. Looking good! ❤️

Dee

Appreciate the patience! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

James Adams

Next Sunday! I’ll be watching them this week now that I’m back 🙏🏽

James Adams

the descent one of the best horror movies

Justin Broadbent

John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness (1987). And John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness(1994). And if you're looking to scratch a werewolf itch: Dog Soldiers (2002).

BadBoyBeta

Braindead Basket Case The Descent Peeping Tom (the first slasher!)

a.n.w

Climax (2018), directed by the same filmmaker who did Enter the Void for something a little of out left-field. Intense psychological horror with a great soundtrack and (increasingly disturbing) dance sequences. Would also qualify for Foreign Film Horror.

Carl Lyngholm

I would normally give more description , but both of these films are better if you go into it as blind as possible. Don’t even watch the trailers, or read the descriptions.

Cody Price

seconded, especially for Dead Ringers

j francis m

I vote for Braindead!!!

a.n.w

Other horror films that come to mind are Pulse, Noroi, and Skinamarink

Leia Camilla

Braindead! (aka Dead Alive) There's also an anime adaptation of Junji Ito's Uzumaki that JUST started, finally I hope The Sopranos wins on a near future TV show poll also

Leia Camilla

I’ll check em out. Eden Lake would be a good one to do. Super suspenseful and kinda infuriating but great. Michael Fassbender is great in it

Max Hylton

Welcome back! Hope you had a great time in Italy! Looking forward to diving back into the Wire with you.

Ian M

The Wailing is a horror masterpiece!

Chris Shine

Very much agreed on Wallace & Gromit!!

Lewish

The greatest Nic Cage acting performance that I can think of, Vampire's Kiss (1988) & Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) Both are super fun and on the lighter side "Halloween Horror"

Penultimate Tommy Wiseau

Welcome back! :D Addams Family Values (1993) Doctor Sleep (2019)

Kaitlin

Gonna go Cronenberg: The Dead Zone (1983) and Dead Ringers (1988). Two Deads!

Jason Cooley

Hope you enjoyed your vacay! Just wanna know when to expect the Wire S1 finale eps. Should we expect them today OR next Sunday? thx

YourWineStopLAKENORMAN

Motel Hell or Maybe " Out of the Mouth of Madness"

Interloper ChocolateCity

I believe I have actually! Check it out on the channel!

James Adams

Thanks for the added description! I think I’ve watched sinister before but not all of it. Just something that appeared on tv so it’ll be nice checking out its entirety!

James Adams

You should do either the original or the 2018 version of Suspiria. I prefer the newer one

Max Hylton

🙏🏽🙏🏽

James Adams

Noted!! 🤘🏽

James Adams

Larry David is awesome so I’m really hyped to finally get to it!

James Adams

Again, recommend you check out Vacancy (2007) cool eeire flick for Halloween that is perfect for just watching a horror movie with no other expectations in the best possible way. Sinister (2012) great acting, actually scary horror movie (IMO) Can't emphasize the acting, music, and general creepy atmosphere enough, perfect for a spooky Halloween watch

Reid Mclellan

Very good! Lots of affirmations with the second visit. Thanks for the patience! Happy to be back with solid WiFi 😂

James Adams

Highly recommend The Frighteners Director’s Cut (1996) and Abigail (2024).

Cody Price

Can’t wait to show some that are on my camera! (this is unedited from my iPhone, which is still mind blowing!)

James Adams

Creepshow and Return of the Living Dead

Mr Zilla

The first couple of seasons of curb your enthusiasm is goated. Definitely looking forward to that.

Markus Burns

Hope you had a good vacation!

Lewish

Holy shit. There is a reason we all take your advice in your reactions, man. You are a talented man behind the camera and infront 👍
