Dear James, Just adding that "Night... was directed by Charles Laughton, the great mid-century English actor who played Rembrandt, Henry VIII and Ruggles of Red Gap (a western comedy). Obviously he learned a lot about directing from being in front of the camera. PS: I joined Patreon specifically because of you: one of the few intelligent film reactors. As a lifetime cinephile, I'll have to make some comments and recommendations along the way.
