2021-08-02 04:26:31 +0000 UTCMaybe you could only leave the movies in for the next poll that ranked 3rd -6th in the current one so we get a bit more circulation and new movies in. Im sure you have more than enough choices for which movies to put on. Just my opinion perhaps others agree ?

2021-07-27 15:49:37 +0000 UTCVoting on Ran and First Man. The auditory work on First Man is unrivaled and may be the best depiction of how terrifying and lowtech those moon landings really were. Also its heartbreaking.

2021-07-27 13:59:44 +0000 UTCWow Ran third place so far. There is hope. (voted Ran and Adaption)

2021-07-27 09:29:10 +0000 UTCI can only choose 2 films from this list: 1. Ran (again, Kurosawa is needed) 2. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I have seen First Man but wasn't really impressed with it; it's OK but other space/lunar landing films, I think are better.

2021-07-26 23:39:57 +0000 UTCI just watched Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress last night and could definitely see what inspiration George Lucas pulled from it for Star Wars

2021-07-26 23:34:15 +0000 UTCI bumped up half that list ... RAN is a Kurosawa retelling of the Shakespeare play King Lear Spotlight is a true story and the last bit just before the credits will absolutely shock you Primal Fear was Edward Norton's first film and he made a believer out of Richard Gere on the first take Equalizer was a good remake with Denzel Washington instead of British actor Edward Woodward who did the TV show source material in the 1980s on CBS. It had really distinctive music and helped start the careers of people like Vincent D'Onofrio Road to Perdition is one of the great graphic novel adaptations that people do not realize is an adaptation. Look for a relatively unknown Daniel Craig. Temple of Doom is a good sequel. The best part to me is the Shanghai stuff.
Jon Bradley
2021-07-26 23:33:12 +0000 UTCI say it every week but let’s get Kurosawa to the top! RAN is just one of his masterpieces and I would love to hear James’s thoughts on it.

2021-07-26 23:28:41 +0000 UTCRoad to Perdition is one of Sam Mendes’ best. Hanks, Newman, and Daniel Craig were amazing in it.
2021-07-26 23:28:35 +0000 UTCRAN is so good, and I thinks James would enjoy it very much
