Robert Altman. YES!

2021-05-07 03:50:13 +0000 UTCSilence is a ridiculously powerful film.
2021-05-07 02:08:30 +0000 UTCI am just going to keep posting this every week here until it happens. Please give Robert Altman a chance... or Suspiria 1977. Not that they have anything to do with each other.
Yours truly, Johnny Dollar
2021-05-06 22:58:40 +0000 UTCPlease add Unforgiven, Dances with Wolves, and Gravity
Randall Keizer
2021-05-06 16:47:38 +0000 UTCMy preference is for 1. Death of Stalin (a very funny but dark film), 2. Amelie (a very funny but French film) and 3. The Handmaiden (a very sexy Korean film).
Brett Coster
2021-05-06 12:34:11 +0000 UTChey now, we’re just tryna have a group cry with James

2021-05-05 06:21:10 +0000 UTCIn the Mood for Love is such a beautiful film, but I’m not sure it’s the best film to react to, just due to the pacing. Criterion Collection just released Irma Vep with Maggie Cheung and I think James would love that film.
2021-05-05 01:17:00 +0000 UTCMinority report is a great movie. Of course its going to win. Unfair that its pitted up against in the mood for love which is a master in filmmaking or The King of Comedy which is one of Scorsese s underated gems
Marvelous Dolcy
2021-05-04 21:29:43 +0000 UTClol me too
2021-05-04 17:34:01 +0000 UTCMinority Report is awesome Idk what you’re saying
2021-05-04 14:06:47 +0000 UTCAre you kidding? It’s way better than average. The story isn’t the most accurate adaptation of the novel but it’s still great
2021-05-04 14:06:20 +0000 UTCI'm dying, that The Handmaiden just keeps missing the mark week after week.
Timo Alho
2021-05-04 12:56:56 +0000 UTCI’ve given up hope that “The Hunt” will ever be chosen but I will continue to vote for it until it is no longer on the list!
Jeremy Lindstrom
2021-05-04 07:24:26 +0000 UTCIn terms of action movies, I’d rather see something less obvious than “Minority Report.” How about “The Long Kiss Goodnight”?
Juley
2021-05-04 03:18:28 +0000 UTCMy vote was for "Death of Stalin". I was thinking that there are a few off the wall movies to consider; David Lynch's "Wild at Heart", "A Simple Plan", "Kalifornia" and "Miller's Crossing".
2021-05-04 02:34:42 +0000 UTCOh man, I am so happily surprised how well Death of Stalin is doing! Maybe one day we will get it across the finish line.
Nick Parker
2021-05-04 02:33:52 +0000 UTCIt is really good but I have to imagine it went under a lot of people radar
Nick Parker
2021-05-04 02:33:02 +0000 UTCI've only seen his short film Foutaises but it was dank af.

2021-05-04 02:10:36 +0000 UTCdid you watch many of these movies in the poll before and dislike them?

2021-05-04 02:09:41 +0000 UTCUgh Minority Report average at best Philip K Dick adaptation. Any Jean-Pierre Juenet film is highly recommended for a budding filmmaker.
2021-05-04 01:11:58 +0000 UTCDeath of Stalin and Minority Report are great choices. Weirdly I was talking to my dad today about that [DoS], didn't know he'd watched it out of my collection. If you liked that you should totally watch In The Loop, and frankly the TV series Succession...
Martin Nicholls
2021-05-04 00:45:24 +0000 UTCAmelie is a good film along with all of Jean-Pierre Jeunet films, but my favorite is Delicatessen from 1991
Matt
2021-05-04 00:00:03 +0000 UTCCome on guys there’s better choices here than minority report!
2021-05-03 23:43:51 +0000 UTCSilence is a powerful movie. Fingers cossed.

2021-05-03 23:01:44 +0000 UTCAdaptation is amazing.
2021-05-03 22:12:31 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed Amelie, the film does whimsical really well. But In the Mood for Love is so beautiful to look at as well.
Sonia Deepak
2021-05-03 22:09:41 +0000 UTCWould be great if you'd give the 'The Fugitive' a chance, fantastic Action Thriller
Jack Ryan
2021-05-03 21:56:26 +0000 UTCMeh, how about Kentucky Fried Movie?
2021-05-03 20:31:31 +0000 UTCprobably not winning again, but just a rec to anyone who’s a fan of films about yearning like Her, Portrait of a Lady on Fire or Lost in Translation, In the Mood for Love is right up there with the best
nick moose
2021-05-03 19:46:27 +0000 UTCfun fact, Tarantino started crying for no reason other than he was “just so happy to love a movie this much” watching Chungking Express
nick moose
2021-05-03 19:38:01 +0000 UTCGone for minority report not my favourite list. Ever considered classics like Deliverance, Apocalypse Now, Watership Down or Full Metal Jacket
2021-05-03 19:05:13 +0000 UTCAdaptation is a must watch. It’s not Harold and Maude but it’s a great movie.
Randall Bott
2021-05-03 18:57:23 +0000 UTCI liked it when I saw it, but had no interest in seeing it again.
Brittyn Lindsey
2021-05-03 18:50:56 +0000 UTCWe need to make Adaptation happen. Minority Report is cool and all but it’s a pretty standard action flick with nothing spectacular going on from a film-making perspective. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good...it’s just way more “Hollywood.” It always seems like the silent majority wins these polls and the people in the comments are passionate about the other films that ultimately end up losing. Reminds me of a presidential election.
2021-05-03 18:50:18 +0000 UTCGiving other movies a chance.
James Adams
2021-05-03 18:35:01 +0000 UTCThe two Popes is a great movie, has it's funny moments as well
2021-05-03 18:21:52 +0000 UTCI've noticed Ghost Dog no longer appears on these lists. What up with that?
H Blackwell
2021-05-03 18:21:49 +0000 UTCAmelie is one of the greatest films you'll ever see, unfortunately it has subtitles so the majority of the American audience put it to one side as a consequence 👍🏻
Nick Sneddon
2021-05-03 18:19:10 +0000 UTCIn regards to In the Mood for Love, we need a whole Wong Kar Wai poll! I recently picked up the new collection, and am blown away by all of his films
Jordan Porter
2021-05-03 18:16:59 +0000 UTCAdaptation is a must-see for any filmmaker!

2021-05-03 18:15:56 +0000 UTCOh man. As a Dane I simply must vote for The Hunt. One of my favourite movies of all time.
