MOVIE SUGGESTIONS!!!

Heyo everyone! Before the poll goes live tomorrow, I wanted to see if we can get some new ones in the chain! Please suggest one per person....and go!!

MOVIE SUGGESTIONS!!!

Comments

Annihilation is honestly one of my all time favorite sci fi movies. I only put Alien above it (which is technically a horror movie wrapped in a sci fi package)

The girl with the dragon tattoo. (Swedish version ONLY!!!)

Downfall, Das Boot

Downfall, it's a really gripping and interesting take on the final days of WW2 told from the German perspective, and as dull as it sounds, the director has created a true work of genius, the only hitch is that it's in German (subtitle movie). If subtitle movies aren't your thing then I'd recommend something a little more upbeat with Hot Fuzz, the editing in that is on another level and it's just an all round solid movie in my opinion.

Jack Ryan

I have a few in mind ... the first one is very hard to find and you may have to buy it on DVD in order to watch it ... Pump Up The Volume (1990) starring Christian Slater as a high school kid who moonlights as a pirate radio DJ named Happy Harry Hardon. This is a tour de force performance and is the one film that Slater has said he would choose if his career had to be defined by a single movie. If you like Alan J Pakula, he did All The President's Men and The Pelican Brief. For Ridley Scott, there are 3: Legend (1986) starring Tom Cruise, Black Rain (1988), and The Duellists -- this is Ridley Scott's first film ever, even before Alien (which was his 2nd) and Blade Runner (his 3rd film) Like John Woo, try on The Killer or Hard Boiled .. the latter is a bullet ballet of gunfire

Jon Bradley

Definitely. One of the best films of the 70’s. Won so many Oscars

Dustin Bruce

The Men Who Stare At Goats

Cifer

Here's one most people have NOT seen...The SUNSET LIMITED with Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Some of the best dialogue you'll ever have the privilege to revel in. From a play by Cormac McCarthy ( NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN). The two actors joust and parry their way throughout the film all the way until the devastating final monologue.

Once upon a time in the west is a must-see for any filmmaker!

Lemur

You should watch Terrence Malick's first five films chronologically - all influential and increasingly experimental - so my suggestion is Badlands (1973)

Grunwalski

Tinker, Tailor, soldier, Spy.

F Yale

Map of the Human Heart (1992)

Christiaan Van den Akker

The Nightingale (2018). Fantastic film and extremely underrated imo

harpyangel47

tbh it might be his best, goes under the radar compared to his heavy hitters

nick moose

Mad Max Fury Road is one of my favorite action movies and you don't really need to have seen the other ones either..

Superpotroast

IDK if there will be much of an audience for this, and without spoiling the gimmick, but the camerawork along with the rhythm & storytelling of Ron Fricke's Samsara (2011) was phenomenal to take in.

Penultimate Tommy Wiseau

wouldn’t mind a rewatch of it honestly. we’ll see!

James Adams

The Ghost Writer (2010). Roman Polanski film with Ewan Mcgregor and Pierce Brosnan. Very underrated and unknown thriller

Spotlight

Easily top 5 maybe top 3 Michael Mann film

YES. This movie is arguably the best western ever made. Redford and Newman are awesome in it

Still pulling for Call Me By Your Name. I'd also like to see you react to The Graduate (1967 -- young Dustin Hoffman with Anne Bancroft), or Shallow Grave (1994 -- early Ewan McGregor).
