Totally agree, itโs an incredible film for so many reasons. It was a life changing experience for me when I saw The Fountain at the Cinema for the first time ๐คฏ

2020-09-08 15:29:50 +0000 UTCIf it is cinematography, lighting and color that you are interested in then you should watch Hero - 2002- directed by Zhang Yimou. House of Flying Daggers and Raise the Red Lantern are good too but Hero does interesting things with color that you should see. Wong Kar-wai movie, In the Mood for Love is considered one of the most beautifully shot movies. Grandmaster and Chungking Express are good too. For lighting, Mr. Turner 2014 is one of DP Dick Pope's best and is about the famous painter who was known for his work with light. The whole schedule was set around getting the light at the right time of day. Tons of Oscar love. Also, the American Society of Cinematographers put out a list in 2019 of the best shot films and you should at least watch any of the top 10 you have missed.
