[NEWS] Patreons and transparency.
Added 2016-06-01 11:34:38 +0000 UTCOkay so the Patreon charges went through. A bunch of people bailed at the last second or their pledges didn't process. Ugh. Which is to be expected. I'll be posting a number of shorts exclusively to the Processed Patreons in the future, so those of you that have paid up already. I'm thinking Motherly Touch might be exclusive to that group, and any standalone stories.
Just to give you some transparency. As of yesterday the pledged amount was $265, after Patreon's initial round of reductions that happens at the pledging stage. For two paid posts basic math puts that around $530. Which is sweet, that's a few big commissions. But as of this morning it's down to $225, because (some) people suck. So anyway, that's $450. But then I get to the pay out screen and it's telling me I'll get $391.77. So a bunch off the lot off the top, after already taking a bunch at the gate. So I pay out and get a notice that I'll be receiving... $297.94. Yeah. great. So Patreon is good at making it easy for creators... then taking nearly half for themselves. I spent north of $300 last month on commissions I've already shared with you guys. The Turk one alone was over $200. Just FYI.
tl;dr - Processed Patreons will get exclusive stories. Patreon takes half the money.
