(Timeline Tuesday #213)
It is unclear when seerslogs arrived on our timeline, as all evidence points to them going unnoticed in our reality for hundreds of years. They are, after all, quiet and slow creatures, their lifestyle and biology functioning in a very similar way to the slugs or snails of our world. Physically, they are invertebrates with one long, slimy foot that propels them onward on a sticky trail. Their coloration is a similar shade to that of a banana slug. In fact, the only notable difference between a seerslog and these similar creatures is the cluster of seven eyestalks that project from their head.
Initially, seerslogs gained popularity when hippies and other cosmic wanderers began to lick the animals, believing their slime possessed incredible psychoactive properties. It is absolutely true that this process created vivid visions within those who partook, but as our understanding of timelines evolved it was gradually discovered that seerslog visions are actually projections of potential future timelines.
Since this discovery, seerslogs have been breed in captivity at enormous numbers, their slime put to a number of different practical uses. Because seerslog licks show many different timelines during a trip, these glances are not particularly reliable peeks into the future, but they are often used to narrow down outcomes in any given situation.
