Sand witches are a vaguely humanoid species who have been blessed with a power beyond our understanding on this timeline. These creatures are magical, for lack of a better term, harnessing some kind of energy that we cannot yet quantify.

This species is highly intelligent, capable of speaking almost any language across all known timelines. They do not, however, have a voice that comes from any organic, biological throat. Instead, the sound seems to resonate from all around when a sand witch is speaking. Sand witches are approximately the size of humans. They are made entirely out of sand, which makes them malleable, but they prefer to hold a figure with two arms, two legs, a torso, and a head with indentations where the usual features would be. At will, they can transform into any shape, but they rarely use this power.

Sand witches are said to be the descendants of powerful timeline travelers who moved between worlds with magic, rather than timeline vibrations. This powerful force was hard on the biological nature of their bodies, slowly grinding down their organic matter with every spell until their entirety was a mixture of mineral and energy.

The culture of sand witches is one of study and secrecy. They spend their time out in the desert performing strange rituals or hunting for rare spell components. They are considered incredibly dangerous, and on nights when their ceremonial fires are burning, even the most curious people or hardened adventurers are warned to stay far, far away. There are few who have gone out to investigate the uncanny practices of sand witches and returned to tell the tale.
