Lurms are unique and beautiful creatures from a nearby timeline that come in two varieties, the sand lurm and the aqua lurm. These two families of lurm are almost identical, aside from their coloration and the fact that sand lurms can breathe and filter fine sand through their lungs, and aqua lurms breathe water.

Aqua lurms are approximately two feet long, with slender bodies covered in smooth, leathery skin. They are light blue, with a speckling of yellow spots that run down their back. Their tails alternate between dark blue and orange, and their beady eyes are stark white. Aqua lurm heads are thin and extend to a point. They have a large toothy mouth, and two arms that extend from large, pronounced shoulder blades.

Despite their animalistic appearance, lurms are actually highly intelligent creatures. They have complex societies and can speak most human languages, as well as their own dialect known as lurmish. Lurms are constantly philosophizing, and spend most of their time floating through the currents in a state of deep meditation. Lurms rarely interact with humans, but when they do, they are notoriously thoughtful. Unfortunately, they are also known to be a little arrogant.

The rare exception is philosophical publication. Lurms are known for their writing, and will often submit their musing on existence to various journals. However, they tend to relate every thought back to aquatic life, constantly using things like river currents and estuaries as metaphors.
