(Timeline Tuesday #176)
Slopples are a species of fungal lifeform that hail from a nearby timeline. They range in size, but an adult slopple will typically grow between three to seven inches in length. These creatures sport a vibrant yellow hue, with an oblong, slug-like body that maintains a slimy consistency. Their faces are oddly humanoid, with two eyes and a particularly emotive mouth that seems to always sit in an exaggerated frown. When slopples move they leave a trail of mucus in their wake, and tiny bubbles are consistently rising from their body.
This species is loving and affectionate, constantly striving to connect with other species. Unfortunately, this is difficult for the slopple a dichotomy that explains their constant frowning and deeply rooted loneliness. Despite their kind, cuddly nature, Slopples are incredibly toxic to be around. Not only is this species poisonous to touch, but even breathing the air within ten feet of a slopple will cause headaches, nausea and sometimes even death if exposure continues for too long.
The only animal that can withstand the toxic nature of a slopple is another slopple, but this provides them little solace. Most of them spend their days wandering around, hoping to make friends with other species but finding themselves perpetually abandoned.
Slopples are scavengers, surviving on the tiny insects or even rodents that perish immediately within their toxic cloud.
