(Timeline Tuesday #173)
These small, mechanical lifeforms are approximately one foot in diameter and two inches thick. They are all completely uniform in their construction, making each utilipuck indistinguishable from the next. However, their behavior and apparent memory suggests that these creatures recognize themselves as individuals, and not a singular sentience. Utilipucks feature an assortment of buttons across their rim, usually rectangular or circular in shape, and varying in size. Not all of them glow, but blue or yellow is the hue of the ones that do.
Utilipucks hover through the air perpetually, and have no need to recharge or gain energy. It is not fully understood how they power themselves, although many scientists believe it is through some mysterious form of timeline manipulation energy.
The bottom of each utilipuck features a small hatch that opens and closes to reveal a thin, single-joint arm that can swiftly retract from their body. What appears on the end of this arm can vary to an incredible degree. In fact, it is unknown just how many different tools the utilipuck can produce. The rough estimate is over ten thousand different utility devices, from saw blades, to lock picks, to speakers, to flame throwers.
Utilipucks generally keep to themselves, and are not aggressive unless provoked. They spend their time working on various strange tasks, usually constructing some kind of object that defies explanation. These pieces can range from large, spiraling towers in the middle of the wilderness, to small, seemingly-useless trinkets that they give away.
