Flamepires are dangerous and destructive creatures from a distant timeline. They defy most forms of categorization, as their body is not solid matter, and are instead made of condensed heat and energy. Flamepires appear as reddish orange humanoids, their bodies constantly roiling and dancing as though constructed from pure, natural flame. Technically speaking, these entities are not made of fire, but their mass is almost indistinguishable from the element.
Despite the constant movement of their bodies, flamepires have a few distinct features. Their hands and legs end in four long, sharp claws, their eyes are giant and slightly darker than the rest of their body, and they sport two long fangs. Flamepires can range in size, from one inch to ten feet tall, depending on how much energy they have.
This species consumes flame to survive, their entire lifecycle revolving around a constant quest for this energy. At birth, flamepires are only a few inches tall. They are drawn to extreme heat, sensing it from hundreds of miles away, and immediately begin their quest to find natural flame. If a flamepire cannot find sustenance quickly, it will perish, but those who do will use their large fangs to suck the energy from each flame source and cause their body to grow larger. This process will repeat until the flamepire reaches a gargantuan size, at which point all excess energy will produce a cascade of smaller, newborn flamepires falling off of their body and beginning the process over and over again.
Heat from a flamepire is just as destructive as that from natural flame, meaning that a sudden influx of flamepires can be a life-threatening disaster.
