DOOMBLOCK - N/A TIMELINE (THE VOID)

Doomblocks are enormous rectangular cubes that spontaneously appear on timelines without rhyme or reason. While none have arrived on our central thread of reality, sixteen nearby timelines have received doomblocks and so far only one of these timeline has survived the incursion. While scientists are hard at work understanding this phenomenon to keep any potential doomblocks from appearing, equal efforts have been placed in timeline evacuation plans.

These structures are simple in their geometry, a slightly oblong cube that is charcoal grey in coloration. There is a small, human-sized door at the front of a doomblock, but otherwise this is the only discernible feature. Doomblocks vary in size, with sides ranging anywhere between one to five miles across.

Little is understood about the makeup of these cubes, but there are two things we are certain of. One, despite their rigid appearance, they are biological in nature, and two, they are related to The Void in some way. The moment it arrives on any timeline, doomblocks will begin to emit strong voidal energy, a wash of sickness, nausea and foreboding sweeping across the land. This sense grows at an exponential rate, and with progressively more devastating results.

Organic material within the ever-growing voidal zone will quickly begin to change. On the lighter end of symptoms is void madness, rage, and disorientation. However, symptoms will increase rapidly. It’s not long before any exposed matter begins to mutate, transforming into something terrible and voidal. Claws, tentacles, and strange biting mouths will appear in flesh, and plant life will wither away, becoming something black and gnarled.

The only solution appears to be sending an explorer, or several, people inside the doomblock. Unfortunately, nobody has ever returned, and no audio transmissions or video recordings have ever been received from within a doomblock. In the one situation where a timeline was saved, the doomblock was somehow banished and it disappeared just as strangely as it arrived, but the team within this structure also never returned.
