Hailing from the same timeline as snowsharks, the snowsquid is a massive invertebrate predator that should be considered extremely dangerous and avoided at all cost. These creatures appear similar to the squids of our reality, although they are much larger in size, sometimes reaching lengths of seventy feet. These creatures are stark white in coloration, which allows them to blend with their surroundings. They have a flat body that leads to the creature’s head, a place from which many giant tentacles erupt. These powerful appendages surround the creature’s sharp beak.

Snowsquids can only survive in very low temperatures, making their home in climates with plentiful snow. It’s within this snow that they maneuver, propelling themselves in a similar way to natural squids moving through water. While these snowy landscapes are much shallower than the ocean, it is rarely a problem for snowsquids. Snowsquids are capable of making themselves extremely flat, becoming nearly imperceptible under a foot and a half of snow. This allows them to carefully stalk their prey, despite the creature’s enormous size.

The diet of snowsquids is made up of large mammals, typically deer or moose, but they will gladly settle for raccoons or even squirrels. Of course, humans are also a common target for snowsquids. There are several reports of the creature attempting to swallow entire vehicles, especially when cars get trapped in snow drifts, but to this day there are no reports of the creature successfully consuming one. Fleeing passengers, however, are another story.

Snowsquids thrive in the cold thanks to their incredibly low heart rate, and this fortunately also effects their meal schedule. Despite their large size, these creatures rarely need to eat, only requiring sustenance every two weeks.
