(Timeline Tuesday #109)
Borlos are hairless, blue-skinned travelers from a distant reality. They are timeline explorers by nature, although this description implies a sense of adventure that’s far from the average Borlo personality. In truth, their movements between timelines mostly resemble those of a spoiled vacationer.
This species features a pear-shaped head, their elongated cranium sporting two stark white eyes and no nose. Their mouths are thin and lipless. Borlos are never seen without their “bromp,” a small floating vehicle that resembles a shallow, metal half-sphere. Bromps have ring of lights around their edge, and are full of a distinct green liquid. Because Borlos spend all of their time within their hovering bromp, very few people know what their bodies actually look like below the surface. Most assume the rest of a Borlo is humanoid in nature, but those who study various timeline fauna understand these creatures are actually long and wormlike, wrapping around the inside of their bowl.
The liquid held within a bromp is warm and soothing, with various medical and psychedelic properties. The purpose of bromp water is to set Borlos at ease and provide as much pleasure and relaxation as possible. Relaxation, in fact, is one of the main cultural drives of this species.
Whenever a Borlo arrives on this—or any other—timeline, its goal is a low-key vacation. They will eat decadent food, take in incredible natural wonders, or have long spa days that involve the various techniques or their current timeline, all without leaving the warm waters of their bromp.
If any task causes a Borlo significant effort, they will refuse to participate, deciding instead to pay someone else in their place. Every bromp is equipped with an ATM that’s filled with the various currencies of a dozen or so relevant timelines.
