Angrills are grey, hooved creatures with four legs, covered in a coat of short, bristly fur. Along the ridge of their backs, angrills sport a line of light green hair that is slightly longer than the rest, and their feet are an even deeper shade of green. The creatures are approximately the size of a golden retriever. Angrills have large round heads with small, beady yellow eyes and a row of sharp teeth.

Notably, the tail of an angrill is unusually long, stretching several feet further than the entire length of their body. At the end of this thin, winding appendage rests an enormous stinger.

Despite the appearance of this toxic barb and the creature’s frightening mouth, angrills are not particularly aggressive. While they are technically carnivores, they will never hunt for prey themselves. Instead, they prefer other animals do the work for them.

Angrills are particularly adept and creeping unnoticed through the underbrush, hiding from sight as they slink along and approach their target. They do not stalk weak prey, however, aiming instead for large, dangerous predators. Once close enough, the angrill will lash out and sting a target with their pointed tail, swiftly injecting a powerful chemical.

The effects are instant, and the angrill knows to quickly escape. The target predator will find itself overwhelmed with rage and hunger, immediately entering a frenzied state and attacking anything it can find. Meanwhile, the angrill will watch from afar. After the predator has done its hunting and calmed down, it will often disregard the prey it has killed, due to the fact that it was not actually hungry.

Now is the angrill’s chance. The creature will gradually emerge from hiding to consume its meal as a scavenger, picking over what’s left.
