Space Rescue told in one illustration!

Hey everyone!

Last week I’ve been detailing the biker-sketches I previously showed you. And that’s all going pretty well. But I also worked on something else, and that’s what I wanted to share today with you :)

promo-illustration

So what I made, is a promo-illustration for the new website I’m working on. This illustration will be the first thing you see there, and should summerize what Space Rescue is about. And that was actually quite the challenge! Because how do you summerize ten hours of gameplay into one illustration? Now that’s hardly possible of course. So I had to find a way to represent the main aspects of the game in a sortof fun and catchy way. And so after giving it a lot of thought, this is what I came up with.

Now this scene doesn’t entirly make sense of course. But the idea is that ships gravity-engine broke down, which caused everyone on the ship to start floating around. And then of course Keen has to grab his tool to eh... fix it all again :)

Oh, and as mentioned the last time; I really want to use the websites paralax effect wherever I can. And in this case I could use it to make the girls float a bit- something like this.

Well I still need to finish it, but what do you think- does it tell you what Space Rescue is about?

I love to hear your thoughts on it :)

All the best!

Oh, well done GoHawks1840! And I have actually made a chapter select screen, to replace the need for savegames- it will provide you with starting points for each girl/chapter. And I will a new starting point when a new girl appears in game :)

Robin

I played it before. I made it up to shooting down the asteroids. Do you have a savefile?

GoHawks1840

Haha...that's true - She is quite destructive. Well, I'll give it some more thought then :)

Robin

She is vil munching on everything but you are the boss ...

Eric Ladouceur

Thanks Dacer!!

Robin

Hey Eric, that's a fun idea! And it would certainly work for the composition. But... it would probably also suggest she is the bad guy :) At least that's how most movie posters use that character placement (star wars, thundercats, heman etc.)- and Watt-ii is actually very cute :) So maybe I should save that spot for my real bad-guy (girl...)?

Robin

"Space Rescue -- The Orbital Overview" :-) Looks good!

Dacer

For mystery effect you could add the electric girl eyes and smile in the background about 3/4 wide, a bit blured and keep the moon

Eric Ladouceur

So going by all the feedback so far, I suppose the illustration works :) Thanks for reassuring me, now I feel I can finish it!

Robin

Thank you so much Lucas! I'm glad you say so!

Robin

This looks great and it shows a bit of personality for every character 🙂 Great design 🙌🏻

Robin

Haha, a friendly introduction to what is eh, comming :)

Robin

The MC gripping his... tool is very cute. :-)

RShrike

Lovely idea, especially Lune is striking in Zero G 😍👍🏻

fox682

I dig it! Fits with the fun space theme and adds some extra flair to the visuals. Smart idea! 👨‍🚀👍
