XXX Scene: Lorza in the massage room

(Spoilers ahead! -  I recommend completing Lorza her story before reading this post)

Hey everyone!

In the latest game-update Keen got to see how alien Lorza really is :) Now to put this story together, I needed several illustrations. And below I will show you how I made those.

The Reveal

Let's start with the scene where Lorza reveals herself to Keen. Now I've been looking forward to make this illustration for a long time, because really early on in the project I already made a sketch that I quite liked :)   

This was the sketch (probably a year old).

I know - a few things have changed over time :) But I always liked this pose & the way the image reads. So I definetly wanted to use this pose in game for the reveal-scene.  

However...that soon turned out to be  impossible, since the game has a screenratio and orientation that doesn't match the sketch at all :(  Still,  I tried my best to find a way to make it work. But that  became a bit of a struggle, as you can see in this making-off gif.  

However,  in the end something good came from this struggle.  You see, at first I just added Keen to this image to fill the  big empty space on the left.  But once I drew him there,  it sparked the idea for the scanner. And that eventually lead to the scene that's now in game -which I quite like :)

The Hjuman Toy

Well. Luckily the next scene I drew for Lorza, was a lot easier to do ;)  

Here you can see a few gifs, showing some steps I took in the creation process of this animation.  

Once the illustration is done, and divided in parts, I always start looking for the biggest motion in the scene.  In this case, it's Lorza pushing up her leg. And from there, the movement continues through her body & ends around her face. 

The next thing to do, is to add the smaller movements, like that of her hand. 

And the final step is to detail each of the (4) individual animation frames. 

And the final step is to export the frames to the game-engine & recreate the animation in code at different speeds.  And that's roughly what's in game now ;)
