Episode Discussion Post: Trying to Watch K-Dramas (or anything) in 2025

We're having some tough but important conversations these days, and that's what today's episode is all about, and we'd love you to weigh in. We listen and we don't judge because for a lot of this, it is a sliding scale as far as where we draw our lines in the sand. A couple of questions to think about...

Thank you for this week's podcast. I was worried when I saw the topic as I was worried that I was going to come away feeling bad about the media I was consuming but it was great to hear you discussing how hard it is and reassuring to hear that we are all conflicted. It sounds so difficult over there for you guys now and it's quite an eye opener to hear you talking, especially as I have been deliberately using K dramas to avoid the news and politics for the past couple of years. I really hope that kindness and tolerance comes back into politics as soon as possible.

I appreciate exploring this conversation within our community. I’ve been asking myself similar questions. And I relate because my employer is on the list of major companies that have donated to the current administration. It’s really hard to grapple with these choices when it’s directly tied to my sole source of income for my family. I’m also torn over Meta. I don’t want to support the company, but so much of my social connection is tied to Instagram. I’m trying to focus on how I can volunteer, donate, and advocate in line with my values (even better when I can leverage my company’s donation match). It’s nice to hear what everyone else is doing. And I’m going to be checking out the Vulgar History podcast for sure too!
