Friday Watch Day

Hey hey hey! It’s Friday and what are ya’ll watching?

I’ve started Tempest and I like it. I really really want to love it. I want to be beaten on the head with a hammer and tempted to sue for emotional damages. So far for me it’s very well-acted and well shot and it’s well…fine. Also everyone is very very good looking. I’m also only a few episodes in so maybe the hammer is coming??? I’m in the mood to have my life seriously ruined.

Are you having your life ruined? What’s the buzz?

Hi all, a little late posting this week, was flying across the country today. From all of the comments this weekend, it seems like there are not a lot of shows really gripping us these days. Here's hoping for some great dramas to drop in the coming weeks - I'm particularly looking forward to Junho's new drama (he looks HOT in the stills that have been released)! I finished CINDERELLA CLOSET this week when the final ep dropped - loved the show overall, great characters, exploring deep societal themes, showing that all kinds of love are beautiful. All conveyed in twelve short yet packed 20 minute episodes. Highly recommend. When I finished the BL Moonlight Chicken a few weeks ago, I wondered how long I could hold out before pressing play on the other BL starring my two new faves, Fourth and Gemini -- MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT. Turns out the answer was not very long (!) Binged it this week and I'm almost done with it. I really shouldn't like this very much as I'm not really a fan of high school dramas, but it's been SO fun to watch - talk about cuteness overload, OMG! I'm smiling so much my cheeks hurt. Fourth is great in this, but Gemini really shines here, his micro expressions are perfect. I also started THE SECRET LIFE OF MY SECRETARY this week (based on some of your positive reviews) and it's a lot of fun - feels very classic kdrama romcom to me, a perfect binge for my long plane ride today (made it to ep 10). Happy New Year to everyone celebrating, and wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Okay, I guess I'm putting You and Everything Else on the list. I'm also not a fan of slow slice-of-life dramas, but I f you liked it, I'll have to take a look! And I'm saving Desire until it's fully dropped. I'm glad it's holding up!

Hi friends! Sadly no life ruining drama this week. This is probably a good thing since I have too much going on life wise to be completely investing all my time into a new show. Although there seems to be some new ones coming out that certainly could fit that bill. Alice in Borderlands and The Murky Stream I’m looking at you. Tempest!!! After episode five I was like this is a 10/10 drama for me, and I was thinking that I could rank it as high as CLOY. It was working for me that much. But then plot stuff started happening and while I’m still enjoying it, I can’t say it’s CLOY levels anymore. Side note I was absolutely shocked to find out this is the first kdrama our ML Kang Dong Wan has done since 2004!!! Cinderella Closet - I’m happy this show wrapped up nicely and we didn’t have to deal with a lot of angst in the last episode. I wished the show had kept up more of Hikaru’s gender fluidity in the final episodes instead of just stating it. Overall, I’m very happy with the show and I feel like it should be required watching for teenagers. You and Everything Else - this show, on paper, should not work for me. The synopsis didn’t sound appealing, and I’m not a fan of slow/slice of life dramas. So why did I press play??? For Kim Go Eun only, and now I know I should just automatically press play on anything she’s in. She knows how to pick a script, and while I typically loathe slow dramas I found myself wanting to press play on the next episode. Desire! Best show ever. Hands down. Everyone should watch, and I’m only kidding a little bit.
