Friday Watch Day
Added 2025-09-19 15:16:07 +0000 UTCSo I started The Tempest AND just cancelled Disney/Hulu yesterday because of that whole pesky capitulating to facism situation — rad timing! I’ll try to get through what i can before my membership expires and then figure out a path forward. A fun race! I also will be starting Aema for the pod. This is move in weekend for my university so it’s busy times here but hoping for quiet lulls where I can do some binging.
I’m not making light of things in America — if you are in the outside and wondering how it feels? Not good. BUT jokes help. That’s why comedy is considered so dangerous/subversive.
So if you want to share…what’s something that made you laugh or at least smile this week? Mine has been the fact we finally got a Nintendo Switch and while I don’t play it, at night my kids have been getting so worked up and scream inventive (and highly inappropriate) curses at Mario Kart…but hey they are actually spending tine together. And the ten year old SMOKES her big siblings.

2025-09-21 04:57:27 +0000 UTCSolidarity to US friends this week, we hosted our US professors and they are so upset and beaten down with the attack on education and universities. Hosting the orange turd here and seeing our leaders having to kowtow was also gut wrenching I had the craziest busy work week but then have been resting and binging dramas bad! The happiest thing that happened this week is we have confirmed we are back in Seoul for next years Asian conference so yay my third trip to Seoul wooooo!! Finished episode 6 of MY YOUTH and decided to drop it’s just not doing it for me. I love the leads but not especially together and the whole thing leaves me disconnected. Finished FIRST LOVE Jdrama thanks to Gavin for pushing me to watch, beautiful, angsty, melancholy romance is so my jam and this was a pitch perfect rendition beautifully told in back and contemporary storylines. ADORED. Up to date on TEMPEST. We have John Cho with some Korean! It’s sooo good to have proper American actors in a kdrama!! I’m hooked everything for me is working for me, even the plot holes and plot armour haha Up to date on BON APPETITE am glad this cooking competition is over but it’s so repetitive. Her life is in danger again! She’s gonna be shut in a prison again! Yawn. This show isn’t doing it for me the way it is for you guys and I’m sad about it! I’ve begun to do complex knitting during the show which is usually a sign I don’t care about missing subtitles and just want to be in it to see key scenes. Almost finished AEMA which I admire but do not love. Fuller post when finished! Which then clears more of my kdrama watch time to start another drama - probably a cdrama from this year!
