What are you all watching? What’s filling the joy bucket? I’m on deadline so watching slower but at the home stretch of My Sweet Mobster—still loving. Also Are You Sure? which is a delight and still going on The Trainee which as a weekly I’m just going to be optimistic.

Not Others was at the top of my list for 2023!

What Emily said! And *I* have watched Empress Ki ✨ and had a really fun time with it! Would love to hash it out with you and anybody else over in the chat this week. First I need to look up the names so I can identify the fourth point of the rectangle by name instead of calling him “Nephew Tutor” or “High-pony Headband.” 😁

Question: When do you post here and when do you post on the AfterNoona Delight Podcast's Chat? TIA ETA: In light of QUEEN WOO being released later this month, I finally watched the last episode of EMPRESS KI (I held off on the last episode because of spoiler reasons). It really gets me in the feels when JCW is also singing in the OST. Anyone else watch this 10-year-old JCW epic drama? What did you think of the love triangle? Or would you say that it was a rectangle?

This week I finished Miss Night and Day. I have gripes about the finale SPOILERS: I get that enforced separation (usually due to a coma, memory loss or one of the main characters going to America for study or extended hospital treatment of some kind) are tried and tested tropes but why exactly did she abandon that poor prosecutor at the time when he most needed comfort and companionship? I get that she needed to find herself and succeed on her own merits but really? She just ditched him and never apologises. We also finished Queen of Tears - good solid offering and I'm now seeking out other Kim So-Hyun dramas and yes, Park Sung-Hoon too. Which led to... I started Not Others - interesting premise about a mother and daughter duo. The daughter is a police officer and the cases are interesting. I miss My Sweet Mobster. I haven't had such a good drama hangover in a while.
